1. Ensure all electrical connectors are secure; loose connections will generate excessive heat, damage wiring and causing
electrical failure.
2. The outer lens should be washed clean with copious amounts of water and a clean sponge. Wiping it with a dry rag will
scratchthelens,especiallyifthesurfaceisdusty.NEVERcleanthelightwithcleaninguidorsolvent.
3.DONOTattempttocleantheinsideofthelightortouchtheinsidelensandreector.
4. LIGHTFORCElightsarenotdesignedtobeusedforlongperiodsoftimeinastationarypositionwithminimalairow,failureto
comply will void warranty. Contact LIGHTFORCE direct to discuss alternative options such as reducing globe wattage.
5.GLOBEREPLACEMENT:TheXenophot®globegivesapproximately10%greaterefciencythananyotherhalogenglobeofsimilar
voltage. A number of optional globe strengths are available upon request. For removal, simply:
a)Rotatethereectorhousinganti-clockwisetodisengageit.
b)Removeoldglobebygrippingrmlyandpullingoutinthelongaxisdirectionoftheglobe.
i) DO NOT TOUCH NEW GLOBE WITH FINGERS, use a tissue or plastic sleeve. Prior to inserting a new globe, scrape the
globelegswithanabrasivesurface(sandpaperorknifeedge)toensurepositivecontactwiththeglobeholderelectrodes.
ii)Positiontheglobelegsrmlyintothexedelectrodesoftheglobeholder,applyingarmpressuretowardstherear.AVOID
jerkingortwistingmovements.NOTE:GlobecanonlybemovedtotheleftandrightNOTupanddown.
iii)Mereplacementoftheglobeintotheglobeholderisoftennotsufcienttogiveaproperlynetunedbeam.Theoperator
canovercomethisbyaligningthesplitlinealongthetopoftherotationlockingNIBandthesplitlineontheendofthe
handlewiththecentreoftheglobelament.(seeFig.1)
v) All other globes should be seated against the globe holder with little or no air gap.
vi) Maximum globe wattage recommendation:
140 LANCE: 12V 75W
170 STRIKER: 12V 100W
240 BLITZ: 12V 100W
Note: USING GREATER WATTAGE WILL VOID WARRANTY
6. FOCUSING MECHANISM: The patented focus mechanism allows precise adjustment of the beam to various concentration patterns as
desired.SimplyrotatethereectorandselectthedesiredSPOT.
7.Ensurethatduringusethereectorsurfaceisnotwoundtoofarforwardpasttheglobeholderormeltingofthehousingcanoccurand
will not be covered under warranty.
8. We recommend wiring remote mount driving lights with a minimum 10 amp wire.
9. Tools needed for installation are
• 17mmsocketonratchetx2orequivalent
• Torque wrench
10.YourHIDlightcanbemountedwiththebottommountbracketttedineitherdirection(i.e.rotated180degrees).Ifyoundthat
youneedtomountyourlightlowerthenour‘lowmount’bracketcanbepurchased(partnumber#MVDL).Thiscanalsobeturned
180 degrees for a greater offset than the standard ‘high mount’.
11.Determinesuitablemountingpositionandtlightintoposition.
12.Aimlight(i.e.pointstraightahead)thentightenbothboltsasperrecommendedtorquespecications(seespecicationsbelow).
13.MountingfastenertorquespecicationsareallM10bolts-70Nm(50lb-ft).
